Matthew Cook is a social worker living the territories of the Songhees, Esquimalt, and W̱SÁNEĆ . He has been working with people experiencing homelessness, addiction, and mental illness for the past 15 years. He is active in his union, serving on the executive of his local and the bargaining committee for his component. He is married to Jessica, who is working on her PhD in Art History, and has two kids working their way through grade school. Kitchen table talk includes illuminated manuscripts, workers' rights, economics of land, and get the cat off the table.
Shona Dion (she/her) is a labour activist and community builder. Current goals include building bridges between labour and community. Shona is also an active member of the Victoria Labour Council as a MoveUp delegate.
Tara Ehrcke (they/them) is a secondary teacher and member of the Greater Victoria Teachers’ Association. They like reading, cooking, hiking, and working with others to make a better world.
Peter (he/him) is a labour activist and dual card holder of the BCGEU and the Industrial Workers of the World. He is a long time busker and loves using music to bring Community together.
Allison (they/them) is a librarian and CUPE member. They have two little kids, two cats, and too many unfinished craft projects!
Rochelle (she/they) is a change and communications professional and an active member of the BCGEU. They are an equity and anti-racism advocate driven by justice and passionate about building community through deep human connection. A budding percussionist, Rochelle believes deeply in the power of rhythm to drive social connection and the labour movement.
Sean Phipps (he/him) is an elementary school teacher and a member of the Greater Victoria Teachers' Association. He enjoys camping, biking and playing on his (very) amatuer soccer team.
Patrick (he/him) is a retired high school teacher, currently experimenting with the revolutionary potential of the accordion.
